Spring Bar Cart Styling

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere. Not here. Here it’s 9am 😂 But when 5 o’clock hits, I’m ready ( and so is my spring bar cart).

Styling seasonal bar carts has the same appeal to me as switching up coffee table decor or rearranging dining table centerpieces; there are so many ways to have fun with it.

If you’re looking to do a bit of spring bar cart styling yourself but are not quite sure where to start, here are some ideas.

Easter bar cart styling

1. Start by finding your ideal bar cart

Keeping in mind the size of your space, the first thing you’ll need to do is find a bar cart that appeals to your decor style and is functional for your home.

Over the years I’ve owned a two-tiered mirrored cart and a three-tiered silver bar cart that were gorgeous – and great for styling cocktails (as well as desserts when I was pregnant). Personally, I preferred three tiers over two – I always loved having the extra shelf to store glassware.

However, they were quite dainty and became a bit of a push toy for my toddler – which is why, for this phase of life – I opted for a heavier, wooden kitchen cart topped with marble.

2. Bring out ALL the beautiful barware and glasses

Functional yet decorative, barware is my favourite element when it comes to bar cart styling.

Last week I opened the mail to find that my friends at GlucksteinHome had sent along their new Monaco collection, featuring an ice bucket, cocktail shaker, bar tray and bar tools in a champagne gold, reflective finish.

Without a doubt, they add a touch of glamour!

In terms of glassware, I opted to put my new crystal highball glasses on display. Their classic silhouette complemented the barware nicely.

3. Display your prettiest bottles

Not going to lie, when perusing different wines and spirits at the liquor store, I am a total sucker for pretty bottles. If you are too, then – good news – those eye-catching bottles can double as decor.

I chose to give my spring bar cart a pink and yellow theme and arranged  some sparkling rosé, locally crafted tonic water and the prettiest pink hued bottle of Saskatoon Honey Gin from Eau Claire Distillery.

4. Layer in a fresh element

When it doubt: add flowers.

That’s a piece of wisdom I picked up years ago that’s never steered me wrong.

For a bit of natural beauty, I put together a white hyacinth, blue hydrangea and pink rose arrangement – as well as a bowl of fresh lemons.

For texture (and to help mop up any potential spills), I draped a pink-hued Easter towel.

Right now in Alberta, we’re still not able to entertain but if we were, I’d whip up a pitcher of my Rose Lemonade and add it up top alongside some sliced lemons. That way guests could help themselves to a Gin Rose Lemonade with ease.

And – voila – this pretty little spring bar cart is complete!
