Aaron is ALL about smoked salmon so for Father’s Day dinner, I’m going to whip together this simple (yet special) Smoked Salmon Pâté appetizer.
The pâté itself is light, smooth and flavourful, served spooned on top of a crispy crostini and garnished with fresh dill, salty capers and julienned onion and cucumber.
I think these tasty little morsels would make an ideal appetizer when entertaining – at least, when we’re allowed to entertain again! You can make the pâté and prepare the toppings in advance – and even store them in the fridge overnight – and then plate right before guests arrive.
Here’s how to make them:
Smoked Salmon Pâté Appetizer

Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 oz smoked salmon
- 4 oz cream cheese

- Juice of 1 lemon

For garnish:
- Fresh dill
- Julienned onion
- Julienned cucumber
- Capers
Special equipment:
- Food processor (I simply used the attachment on my Braun MultiQuick 5 hand blender).
Directions:
Blend smoked salmon, cream cheese, onion, garlic and lemon juice in your food processor until smooth. Spoon onto crostini and garnish with fresh dill, onion, cucumber and capers.
Voila – a spectacular appetizer in under 15 minutes.
