Guys, only 30 days remain until Christmas! I’m in full-on festive mode over here and today I’m taking over the blog with ALL the pretty pastel Christmas decor inspiration.
This year, I was a lucky girl. Santa informed me that I not only made the good list, I made the very good list. And so his elf friends over at one of my favourite home stores, Urban Barn, gave me a ring and asked if I’d be interested in partnering to transform my home into a winter wonderland featuring their new holiday 2018 collection’s pretty and glam pastel Christmas decor.
I think it goes without saying that my answer was YES.
So, no need to dillydally – let’s get this glamorous Christmas home tour started!
White Ombre Christmas Tree
I’ve always wanted a white Christmas tree and this year I finally made it happen with Urban Barn’s 7 ft Claus Ombre pre-lit LED tree.
As you can see in this closeup, it starts off white at the top and slowly fades to a shimmering silver tinsel at the bottom (which, by the way, reflects light SO beautifully at night).
The tree arrived in a box, so I began the decorating process by shaping – or ‘fluffing’ – out all its branches. I then proceeded to add some White Iridescent Kringle Metallic Tulle, which is ahhhhh-mazing. It’s so plush and springy, with shimmering threads that sparkle in the light of the Christmas tree.
This was my first time working with tulle ribbon and I tried a few approaches before landing on this look, which I think is perfect. In the past I’ve owned trees with large gaps between the branches. However, the Claus Ombre tree is very full, meaning I didn’t have to ‘hide’ or ‘cover up’ any big gaps.
At first, I weaved an entire roll around the tree and it was beautiful but not quite the look I had in mind. So I actually ended up cutting the tulle into small segments, each about 15 inches long. I spaced them throughout the tree, draping them across the branches in the same style as how a tree collects freshly-fallen snow.
And at the bottom of my ombre beauty you’ll find the incredibly plush white Flora Faux Fur Tree Skirt. It adds so much luxurious texture to the room. Plus, at 60” by 60”, it’s large enough for all my gifts AND for Monty and Elle to have a cozy place to relax!
Pastel Christmas Tree Ornaments
This year I featured a variety of pretty ballet pink and blue, silver, gold and white ornaments in my tree.
I began with a base of classic round balls that, truthfully, are anything but simple. Each glass piece is beautifully ornate and so swoon-worthy – like these shimmering ballet pink Darielle balls and Tay sparkle ornaments from Urban Barn.
I also added a sprinkling of attention-grabbing feature ornaments. They’re too cute for words, so here’s a peek at my favourites.
At the top of the list are two of my favourite things: chandeliers and champagne. (Plus, the Bubbly Champagne Ornaments make a great gift idea for any friends who celebrated a milestone in 2018).
If you saw Elle’s Halloween costume this year, you’ll know these donut ornaments are the perfect match for my family.
I’m kind of obsessed with these rustic blue gondolas!
And how over-the-top glam are these vintage satine sofas?!
If you’re looking to get your hands on any of these pastel or cute novelty ornaments, they’re available in-store only at any Urban Barn location.
Living Room Pastel Christmas Decor
I love switching up my living room decor with the seasons, and the first thing I always think about is how I’ll style my coffee table. We’ve been in our home for over four years now and hands down this is my favourite look – in large part due to the fact that I finally found the perfect tray.
At 42” by 42”, our coffee table is large and in charge and Urban Barn’s oversized Charlize Mirror Tray is the perfect match. I styled it with the standing and sitting white Dakota Reindeer Planters. And while I did add a bit of greenery to the tray, it wasn’t in the planters – I chose to adorn them with some shimmering ornaments, instead! I also styled the tray with some twinkle lights which I draped in tulle, giving the appearance of snow.
Another focal element of my living room decor is these Flora Faux Fur Stockings in ballet pink. Aren’t they amazing? They’re so soft, and I love how their blush pink hue ties in with the ornaments so perfectly. Plus, they’re super roomy, making them ideal for filling up with goodies for Christmas morning.
I dressed up our large wall mirror with Urban Barn’s Silver Blitzen Wreath, featuring a medley of pinecones, stars, branches and baubles. I paired it with an equally-whimsical DIY garland that I made using fishing line and four Chrissy Feather Ornaments.
Cute, right?
And because you can never have too much texture when it comes to Christmas decor, I went all-out in the pillows and throws department.
These velvety Milk Luscious Pillows are irresistibly soft and pair perfectly with the pastel blue tones of my Atswater Forest Toss Cushions. And if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll probably recognize these Cream Mongolian Pillows. I bought them at Urban Barn four years ago and they’re still in mint condition.
But, if I had to pick a favourite (because, who am I kidding, we all do it), I’m giving the gold star to this Rosalind Ballet Pink Throw. It’s show-stopping! Plus, I’m kind of obsessed with oversized knits right now, and love how its blush hue ties in with the stockings.
Dining Room Pastel Christmas Decor
Feeling hungry? You’re in luck – my dining room table is holiday-ready and all set to host a dinner party at a moment’s notice!
To tie into the glistening details of my Christmas tree, I created a table runner out of tulle and added six ballerina pink Theron Placemats to match the blush shade of my Christmas stockings.
If you’re admiring my dinnerware, I don’t blame you. The plates
and bowls are made of authentic recycled glass and look as good as the day I bought them at Urban Barn five years ago! For a bit of festive flair, I adorned each bowl with a white Rhea Snowflake ornament and opted to display my Silver Gray Shimmer Wine Glasses.
I’m happy to report that I created this ridiculously cute Grinch tree centerpiece myself at a Fleurs Flowers workshop this week! It’s styled on top of the medium-sized Charlize Mirror Tray, which I jazzed up with some pretty ornaments, the Rose Gold Shimmer Glassware Decanter, and Silver Georgie Moose. And for a bit of height, I also added my Abbott White and Steel Gray Candle Holders and White Cassa Candles, which are the perfect dining table accessories any time of year.
Kitchen Christmas Decor
And because I can’t keep decor in one spot for too long (and because Aaron is definitely taking advantage of the shimmer glassware), I’ve loved styling some of my pastel Christmas decor in our kitchen.
Some new additions that are undoubtedly catching your eye include this adorable Holiday Haul Snow Globe and Baby It’s Warm Inside LED Block. Right now the snow globe is actually up in Elle’s room. She loved it so much, she claimed it as her own!
A big thank you to Urban Barn for helping me deck my halls with their gorgeous pastel Christmas decor. Right now our home feels like a winter wonderland, and I couldn’t be happier.
I appreciate you taking the time to stop by. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts and answer any questions in the comments below!
