Layered Grapefruit and Rose Vodka Soda

I’m all about making things easy when I can, and this Layered Grapefruit and Rose Vodka Soda recipe fits the bill. It’s super easy to whip together, tastes delicious and looks fancy AF….which, let’s face it, is half the fun.

My blogger BFF Alex and I made it recently for a ladies’ night and it was a hit (and not just because I hired a Butler in the Buff to serve us beverages in my hot tub that evening, HA).

But the beauty of this drink, apart from its pretty pink layers, is that it’s made with only three simple ingredients: Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice and soda.

So they say not to judge a book by its cover but that’s exactly what I did with this liquor bottle. I mean, it looks SO pretty – but I’m happy to confirm that it tastes as good as it looks. And, added bonus: it’s lighter in calories than other beverages you could put in your cup, has no artificial flavors, added sugars or artificial sweeteners. No, this isn’t an ad for Kettle One – I just really think it’s a lovely vodka!

Let’s take a peek at the recipe:

Yields 1 cocktail

You’ll need:

Directions:

In a glass filled with ice, add 1.5 ounces vodka and the juice of half a grapefruit. Stir, then top with club soda. Garnish with something pretty and enjoy!

In case you’re wondering what the hint of purple is, my ‘something pretty’ was oversized frozen pansy ice cubes (they’re a safe, edible flower) with a slice of grapefruit and a fresh pansy up top.

I’ve been experimenting with making pretty ice lately – and plan to share all my thoughts in a separate blog post – but if you’d like to replicate the look, I’m a huge fan of oversized silicone ice cube trays.
