Welcome to one of the most calming spaces in our home: Emmett’s gray and white boys’ bedroom.
We love this space – it just ✨feels✨ good. The natural light, restful color palette and layered textures make for a great combination!
While many of the details remain the same from Emmett’s nursery – including the muted green wall mural and gold light fixture – we switched up a few of the larger pieces. Here are all the details in case you’re looking for some ideas while designing a gray and white boys’ bedroom for your own little one!
Gray and White Boys’ Bedroom Decor
Watercolor Vine Wallpaper
If you’ve checked out our playroom or Elle’s nursery, you may have noticed we LOVE Rocky Mountain Decals. Their wallpapers and decals come in the dreamiest patterns, are so easy to apply and hold up great.
Four years ago, I worked with the Rocky Mountain Decals team to custom-fit this piece to our walls, taking the wainscoting into consideration. We’re so happy with how well it’s held up.
Gold Light Fixture
One of my most-asked about home accents, this clear seeded glass and gold light fixture, is a real showstopper.
It’s available in multiple glass styles and finishes, including black.
Trundle Bed
Emmett’s room isn’t huge so when shopping for a bed, we had a specific style in mind: a trundle bed that would fit in the back corner, maximizing floor space while providing an extra bed for when the kids start having sleepovers in the future.
Initially, I wasn’t thrilled with the purchase – it arrived from Wayfair slightly damaged, but the customer service was excellent and we’ve been happy with it ever since.
Here are a few trundle bed options to take a peek at:
Fun Beds
We also toyed the idea of going with a ‘more fun’ bed – here are a few styles that are so cool, I just had to share!
Textured Rug
This Cauldwell area rug adds some luxe texture and interest to the space. With a 0.75” pile height, it’s one of the more plush rugs in our home, which Emmett (clearly 😂) loves.
Plus, the team at Boutique Rugs were kind enough to provide me with a discount code to offer you: CHANDELIERS for 10% off site-wide.
3-Drawer Dresser
A classic, attractive piece, we held onto this 3-drawer dresser from Em’s nursery.
Paint Color
I adore the paint color we chose for above the wall panelling. It’s Lace Falls by General Paint (which, by the looks of it, was since bought out by Sherwin-Williams). I’ve found a few websites suggesting comparable tones in other brands and it appears Behr’s Shiny Luster is a close match
(and available in a multitude of finishes).
Sail Canopy + Giant Llama
For anyone admiring this Dreams Ahead Sail Canopy or giant llama, I’m sorry to report they’re no longer available at Pottery Barn Kids.
However, here are some other whimsical decor pieces that caught my eye:
