Okay – ready to swoon? It’s a week out from Christmas Eve and I may or may not (okay, I do!) have a gigantic, pastel-tone gingerbread castle in my kitchen right now!
It’s starring front and centre in this year’s Christmas Dessert Bar Cart, which is piled high with some of the most scrumptious holiday treats I’ve ever tasted. …Because sometimes, you just gotta treat yo’elf.
I’d love to take credit but full kudos go to my friends at Whisk Dessert Co., an upscale bakery here in St. Albert.
If you checked out my bar cart last season or Elle’s first, second or third birthday parties, you’ll already know that the Whisk Dessert Co. team are baking magicians! This Christmas is no different – they created an incredible array of festive treats for me to put on display.
Like, COME ON! How are you even supposed to take a bite out of a gingerbread castle that looks as pretty as this?
So, ready for some dessert inspo? Here’s a closer look (literally – you’ll want to see all the details) at this year’s Santa-approved sweets.
-
Holiday Wreath Door Sugar Cookies
Up first on the menu are these ridiculously adorable sugar cookies decorated as a white front door adorned with a holiday wreath.
-
Macaron Bauble Cupcakes
A cupcake and a macaron? Best of both worlds.
-
Festive meringues
These adorable snowman meringues were one of Elle’s favourite desserts.
Also, how cute is this wreath?
-
Gingerbread Castle
Decorated in shimmering blues, pinks, greens and white, this whimsical gingerbread castle looks like it came straight from a Christmas fairy tale.
-
Mini Shortbread Cookies
These mini shortbread cookies are filled with raspberry gelée and topped with a meringue cookie.
-
Peppermint Snowflake Macarons
With a refreshing hint of peppermint, these macarons taste as good as they look.

Array of Favourite Festive Baking
There’s something to be said about ‘traditional’ Christmas baking – and Whisk offers all of them in their Christmas Collection box… which I then, of course, had to put on display!
What you’re looking at includes: nanaimo bars, cranberry white chocolate blondies, chocolate praline brownies, lemon crackle cookies, white chocolate dipped peppermint cookies, ginger molasses cookies, whipped shortbread, fruitcake cookies, dipped shortbread, raspberry linzer cookies, coconut macaroons, walnut snowballs, gingerbread people.
Plus – Elle’s favourite – a decorated snowflake sugar cookie!
I also want to give a shout-out to HomeSense Canada. That’s where I found this beautiful silver bar cart which is literally the perfect (moveable) platform for displaying these desserts. I can’t wait to dress it up for New Years with some cocktails!
Thanks for stopping by to check out my Gingerbread Castle Christmas Dessert Bar Cart and – as always – I’m happy to answer any questions you have in the comments below.
