Oh, I remember the first summer with Elle – it was the best summer of my life. I was the happiest a person can be, relishing in the excitement of being a new Mum.
Elle was chatty and happy and I’d tour her around the city, showing her all the sights there were to see – feeling so lucky to be with her on maternity leave and not at my office job. And damn – did I feel good. I was free to wear ALL the cute summer dresses… and I did.
Fast forward two years and I’m the mother of two. And while I’m still super excited for summer and those dresses are still looking cute in my closet, I can’t wear them. Because now I’m a toddler Mum.
Unlike my sweet-as-pie newborn Emmett, Elle’s a full-on toddler… who can move. On her own. Like, she can run. Really, really fast. And I’m running after her. So long story short, my dresses are too short. They’re just NOT practical for a Mum on the go.
This week I headed to the mall, ready to drop cash on some new outfits and it was a bust. I wasn’t vibing the mom-sentials at my usual stores and I swear every other shop just had teenage-geared crop tops and short shorts. Thank goodness for the Internet!
New PinkBlush Dresses
I’ve always been an in-person shopper – I like to try stuff on. But when PinkBlush offered to send over a few of their spring dresses, I was excited to give them a try and am so happy I did! They had exactly what I was looking for: pretty prints in maxi and midi styles, perfect for looking cute but practical when chasing after a toddler.
At 5’7”, I’m a small and opted for both a mauve tie sleeve maxi and floral print wrap dress.
