Making Snail Mail the Best Mail with Basic Invite

Though I can truthfully say I’ve learned many lessons, if there’s one major thing this global pandemic has taught me, it’s to take joy in life’s small pleasures.

…To relish catching up over coffee with a girlfriend. To squeeze your parents extra hard when you finally get to hug them. To pause and feel the sun on your face.

I’ve also learned the power of connection. And while I’m grateful for video platforms (even though the ‘Zoom Fatigue’ struggle is so real), one form of communication that has never lost its charm is snail mail.

Stunning Stationery From Basic Invite

We all know that pleasant feeling: of opening the mailbox and finding – in the midst of bills, coupons and (yikes!) speeding tickets – a personalized message from a friend.

Snail mail is truly the best mail. So when Basic Invite reached out to collaborate and have me create some personalized stationery of my own, I jumped at the opportunity.

If Basic Invite sounds familiar, chances are you’ve been a bride or had a baby and swooned over their cards, announcements and invitations.

However, in addition to the two big Bs (I’m talking about brides and babies, LOL!), they also specialize in stationery, business cards, event websites and event-based paper products – like holiday cards and graduation party invitations.

Like, how beautiful is this graduation announcement template?

And I’m totally swooning over their unique business cards.

The Design Process

While creating my stationery, I found the Basic Invite website very user-friendly. I browsed different templates, found the ones I loved, and was able to customize the colour of each element to my liking using the instant preview feature.

As you all know, I’m a fan of pink. With over 180 available colours, foil options and 40 different shades of envelopes, I was able to experiment with different shades to get the stationery exactly to my liking.

So what started as this:

Became this:

Swoon!

Plus, if you’re doing a big order – like wedding invitations or a college graduation announcement – you’ll be happy to know you can order printed samples before placing your final order to see the paper quality (which is 10/10) and ensure it’s exactly how you want.

A big thank you to Basic Invite for sponsoring this post and for making me SO excited to send out some personalized cards. As always, all thoughts are my own.

And – psttt! – if you’re interested in creating anything for yourself, I’m happy to extend 15% off all orders with coupon code ‘5FF51’. Plus, for more ideas and stationery inspo, you can follow along with Basic Invite on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter.

  1. This post reminds me of when I lived in NB and we used to send each other little snail mail packages and cards all the time. ❤️
After seeing those business cards I will definitely be using Basic Invite to order my next batch! Thank

  2. Too funny, Simone – I was actually going to send this along to you. I think that our mail packages back and forth was one of the coolest things ever! So much fun. Made me feel like a kid even though we were in our 20s lol

  3. I completely agree! I still have some of the cards you sent me. It made being away from home so much easier and it was so much fun to go out and find things to send to you!
