My 2019 New Year’s Resolutions

Happy 2019, everyone!

I’m sure I’m not the only one who gets a bit sappy and reflective with the yearly calendar shift. But here I am, on January 1, 2019, feeling so grateful as I look back on 2018: a year of growth and celebration for our family.

Our 2018 in a nutshell

My New Year's Resolutions for 2019 : family time

Each passing day and month, Elle continued to amaze Aaron and I with her loving, happy personality and her intelligence.

My New Year's Resolutions for 2019: family timeLike, we definitely think she’s the funniest kid in the world! And looking back on this photo taken at the start of March, it sure is hard to deny that she’s growing from our small baby into quite the charming little girl.

I’m also very close with my parents, siblings and in-laws and was SO excited for two major milestones in my sisters’ lives. We celebrated my sister Sophie at her wedding in Canmore and toasted my sister Alexis’ engagement (woot woot – she’s tying the knot this November in Mexico)!

Plus, for a large part of the year – okay, for most of 2018 – I was growing a little human. Aaron, Elle and I are beyond excited to become a family of four in a few short weeks – baby’s due date is January 31st.

I’ll be the first to admit that this pregnancy has been extremely challenging. And while I’m so grateful to be pregnant again, it certainly hasn’t been an easy nine months. So, keeping in mind all the excitement that a new year and a new addition bring, here are a few New Year’s resolutions for 2019.

I will…

1. Give myself time to transition into becoming a mother of two

Becoming a Mum was the BEST thing I’ve ever done. But I know life with two can be a challenge. So, I’m going to fight the urge to live my ‘go-go-go’ lifestyle and plan to take some time to slow down, enjoy all the newborn snuggles and ease into life with two littles – whatever that looks like!

2. Make time for exercise

When Elle was born, the first thing to hit the back burner was… exercise. And I really didn’t care, LOL. But just last week I celebrated my 30th birthday and, yaaaaaaaa, I do need to make time for exercise, especially to keep up my energy levels.

3. Stay inspired

I’m so glad I launched this blog a year ago – it’s opened me up to so many amazing people and opportunities!

And while some days it would be easy to close the laptop for good, I’d love to stay inspired – especially when it comes to photography.

Each time I receive an email or direct message asking for tips and tricks on my photo editing, I get a little red in the face. First of all, THANK YOU for that huge compliment. But I literally play around and make it up as I go each time I sit down to edit a batch of images.

And so, for the sake of my sanity, this year I’d love to invest some time into learning about Lightroom. If you have any resource recommendations, please do share them in the comments below or shoot me an email at chandeliers.and.champagne@outllook.com
