This Very Berry Valentine’s Day smoothie bowl was almost too pretty to eat – almost!
I whipped it together (or more accurately, blended it) this weekend for the kids because:
- Elle is already excited for Valentine’s Day and
- I wanted an excuse to try out my new Braun MultiQuick hand blender.
I love making smoothies or smoothie bowls a few times a week. The kids really enjoy them and they’re an easy way for me to sneak some spinach into their diets without complaint. However, our standing blender has been making some questionable noises lately… Aaron’s actually shelved it until he can properly investigate what’s wrong.
So I decided to blend this Valentine’s Day smoothie bowl using my Multi-Quick hand blender and was so impressed. It has 21 speeds for quick, consistent blending and (best of all) the blade’s designed to virtually eliminate splashing, meaning clean-up was a breeze.
Here’s how I made it:
Very Berry Valentine’s Day Smoothie Bowl
Makes two adult-size smoothie bowls (I find this amount is great for myself and my two little ones)
You’ll Need:
For the Smoothie
- 2 cup frozen berries (I used raspberries, blueberries and strawberries)
- 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup vanilla yoghurt
For the toppings
- A handful of fresh berries of choice
- Granola
- Chia seeds
- Other fun toppings include: shredded coconut, seeds, nuts, honey and cinnamon
Directions:
Place the frozen berries, banana and yoghurt into the beaker of the Braun MultiQuick Hand Blender and blend the mixture until smooth using the blending shaft. Pour into breakfast bowls and add toppings.
I created this fruity heart and XOs using a fresh strawberry and a pairing knife.
Thank you to Braun North America for sending along this hand blender for our family. As always, all opinions are my own.
