I don’t know who needs to hear this but with Father’s Day just around the corner (it’s this Sunday, June 19), what Dad really wants is for you to steer clear of the sock aisle, okay? Haha. But seriously – drop the socks.
If you’re still hunting for a present – or are back to the drawing board after that socks comment – I’m rounding up 10 useful Father’s Day gift ideas.
Over the last few years, there’s been a common sentiment in our family: we don’t need more stuff. For that reason, I’ve leaned toward gifting experiences, food and high quality items people want but might not necessarily splurge on themselves.
10 Useful Father’s Day Gift Ideas
1. Quality Time
I always think the best gift is time well spent. Fortunately, there is so much to look forward to this summer in Edmonton, like:
Epic Day Out At Packwood Grand
Last year my entire family headed to Packwood Grand – a horse racing day out that’s bougie and a little boozie – and it was SO much fun. It’s back this year on August 27. You can grab tickets here.

Tickets to a Summer Festival
From the Alberta Circus Arts Festival to Taste of Edmonton and Heritage Days, make plans to check out some of the best festivals in Edmonton this summer.
Explore A Local Museum
From checking out vintage vehicles, air craft and industrial equipment at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum to taking a step back in time at Fort Edmonton Park, relive some of the fun activities of your childhood with your Dad this year.
Tickets to an Edmonton Riverhawks or Edmonton Elks Game
Fresh air and sports – what’s better?
2. Carnivore Club
I’m all about a good bouquet and Carnivore Club made me lol a few years back when I ordered Aaron this delicious (and hilarious) Salami Bouquet.
This year I opted for their Classic Box, loaded with premium, small-batch charcuterie items. I’m sure it’ll be a hit with Aaron (and a good excuse for a wine night out on the patio).
3. Edmonton-local Arcadia Brewing Co. Beer
Does your Dad love beer? Treat him to some Edmonton-local Arcadia Brewing Co. Beer. Whistling Pig and Coliseum are our family’s favourites!
4. Balanced Company Snack Box
Each month our family loves receiving our Balanced Company Snack Box. It’s a fun surprise and a great way to try new items we might not have found on our own.
Treat your Dad to a box or a subscription that runs a few months and use my code – CHANDELIERS10 – for 10% off.
5. Copper Spice Co.
Dad big into BBQing? Check out all the fabulous gift sets by Edmonton-local Copper Spice Co. In addition to carrying premium spices, they offer cocktail rimmer sets, flavoured salts, dip kits and popcorn sets.
6. Metallica Whiskey
Walked through a Wine and Beyond? If you know, you know.
It’s my favourite liquor store – they have such an amazing selection. Plus, right in time for Father’s Day, they’re offering Blackened American Whiskey, which is a collaboration with Metallica.
Part of the production process involves playing Metallica songs at specific frequencies while the whiskey is in the barrels to affect the flavour! Cool, right?!
7. Jacek Chocolate
If your Dad is a chocolate fan, he’s going to love trying JACEK artisan chocolates.
They have a variety of gift samplers and unique, indulgent offerings – like Old Fashioned Bars and Chocolate BBQ Rub.
8. DOSE Juice
Fresh-pressed juices delivered straight to your door? Talk about a great gift idea for the health-concious Dad.
Plus, you can use holly20 for 20% of your order.
9. Caesar Bundle
If your Dad enjoys Caesars, put together a Caesar gift basket! Gather together clamato, a bottle of vodka or gin, some garnishes and a bottle of Caesar Squeezers ( a blend of seasonings to create a restaurant-quality Caesar).
10. Red Ribbon
One of my first stops when looking for gifts for Aaron is Edmonton-local boutique Red Ribbon. Not only does Red Ribbon carry quality clothing but I always find a quirky yet functional item or two that makes Aaron laugh – like this beer body wash and card.
Hope you enjoyed these Father’s Day gift ideas!
