Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the UPPAbaby KNOX car seat (spoiler alert: I definitely loved it).
I remember that feeling of being a new Mum and navigating the overwhelming waters of baby gear.
Breast pumps. Baby swings. Bassinets. Pack ‘n plays. Safety gates. Toys upon toys.
Oh boy, it’s a lot.
Fast forward five years and looking back, there’s a lot of baby gear out there but only a handful of items we used consistently and depended on every day. For me, that was our stroller, baby monitor and car seats.
If you had a chance to read my detailed review on our UPPAbaby VISTA stroller, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of the design and continue to appreciate how it’s made getting out and about with the kids that much more accessible.
So when UPPAbaby reached out about partnering with my blog on their new KNOX convertible car seat, I said yes without hesitation. It’s now been almost three months since we installed these car seats for Emmett and Elle and I’m happy to share all my thoughts.
Overall, here’s what I love about the UPPAbaby KNOX car seat:
- UPPAbaby utilizes multiple technologies, from Koroyd in the base to specialized foam in the headrest, to ensure this car seat is top-of-the-line in terms of safety.
- My husband commented it was quite straightforward and easy to install.
- We owned the MESA infant car seat and love that the KNOX also includes a SMARTSecure System which means that during installation, there’s a red-to-green tightness indicator providing visual confirmation that the seat is installed correctly.
- The KNOX is convertible and able to grow with your little one, from about 1-6 years old. Your child can sit rear-facing from 14-45 pounds (using the included fit inlay from 14-25 pounds) and can sit forward-facing from 25-65 pounds. Plus, the eight-position headrest and four-position recline all adjust quickly and easily.
- I’m stating the obvious but it’s an attractive-looking car seat. If it was a man, it’s a Ryan Gosling for sure. I went with Bryce but there are four colours currently available.
- The car seat’s material is easy to wipe down and clean. Plus, if you have a big spill, the fabric is removable.
- A small detail but an important one as your kids grow older – there’s a removable cup holder.
- It’s comfortable! At least, much more comfortable than our former car seat, as described by my five-year-old.
The car seat has a no-rethread harness, which I love. If I had to flag a concern, my only complaint is that on two occasions, I’ve had the straps fold in on themselves and then flip the buckle the opposite way – which meant a minute or two to flip it back.
Definitely not a deal breaker by any means but it was annoying and has happened to me with other car seat models in the past.
Where To Buy
Multiple retailers sell the UPPAbaby KNOX, including Nordstrom, buybuy BABY, Chapters Indigo, Amazon and Amazon CA.
I hope this gave you some insight into owning the UPPAbaby Knox car seat and I’m happy to answer any questions you have in the comments below or view Instagram DM (@chandeliers.and.champagne). Thank you to UPPAbaby for providing me with these car seats. As always, all thoughts are my own.
Happy car seat shopping!

Hi— size wise— I have a Honda Civic sedan so it’s not a spacious back seat. Do you think this would be a problem ?
Whoops I hope that worked – just left you this comment:
Hi Tee!
The KNOX has a very streamlined, narrow base that it will fit in smaller cars. I have an Audi Q5 and my friend has an Audi A4 which is pretty compact – very similar in size to the Honda Civic – and it fits fine it both of ours. The exact dimensions in case youd like to measure is 23.8” L x 18.8” W x 27.4–32.5” H (height reflects headrest in lowest and highest positions).
If your vehicle is very small, you might just need to move up the front passenger seat so that there’s room for the car seat (should not be touching the seat when rear facing) and gives the child leg room when forward facing.
I hope that helps!

Actually it doesn’t fit well in my car — at all.. Audi Q7. It can only be used in the forward position for children weighing less than 25 lbs. While exactly following the manual of both the vehicle and the KNOX material, I find the UPPABABY cannot be adjusted sufficiently to allow it to be positioned vertically for children weighing more than 25 pounds. the rear seats in the Q7 cannot be adjusted to move in any direction except fully opened and fully closed (for stowage). The Uppababy seat, even in the full upright position remains slanted at such an angle that the bubble won’t move into the 25 pound plus area leaving me in doubt that its a good safe fit for two year olds.
