Last Halloween, my one year old fell in love with the song Spooky Scary Skeletons. Since then, Halloween has become a year-long affair, with themed tv shows and songs playing on repeat since last fall.

Now that stores are displaying pumpkins, costumes and spooky decor, each outing – whether to the grocery or dollar store – has enchanted my son. It’s adorable… he gets SO excited.

Last week I put together this little breakfast board and let me tell you, his reaction was priceless. I’m sharing what I included, as well as some Halloween dessert board inspo from six of my blogger friends.

Eat, Drink and Be Scary: Halloween Brunch Board

Monster Pancakes

Is it a ghost or a monster? I’m not quite sure lol. But I spread some vanilla frosting on pancakes and topped them witha KitKat mouth and chocolate almond eyes. They were the biggest hit with both kids.

Pumpkin Spice Waffles

I highly recommend blending in some pumpkin spice to your whipped cream to add some fall flavour to your waffles.

Worms In Dirt

A classic. You know the drill.

Banana Ghosts

I saw this one on Pinterest. You use the top and bottom of a banana and add chocolate chips as eyes and a mouth. Orrrrr, you know, coffee beans if you realise you’re out of chocolate chips.

Mandarin Oranges

Peel some mandarin oranges, add a celery leaf and – voila! Instant mini pumpkin.

Filler Foods for Yoghurt Parfait

I filled in gaps between the main food items with some white pumpkins as decor, granola and fresh fruit. I provided yoghurt in bowls on the side so the kids would have everything they needed to make a yoghurt parfait.

Other Halloween Breakfast Ideas I Had Included:

  • turning hard-boiled eggs into ghosts
  • making bat jello jigglers using a cookie cutter and a combination of grape and orange jello
  • Frankenstein avocado toast
  • Shaping cheese slices with Halloween-themed cookie cutters

And here’s a look at last year’s board:
