Are you ready for all things feminine and floral? I hope so! Today I’m giving a tour of Elle’s new glamorous pink playroom. Plus, I’m chatting about how I use toy rotation to manage clutter in our home.
Glamorous pink playroom tour
A few months back I shared some playroom design boards outlining my plans to transform an underused room in our basement into a play space for Elle. It was time to change a bit of Aaron’s man cave into a glam cave, ha! The transformation is complete, and I couldn’t be happier.
Let’s check out all the details of this pretty-in-pink playroom:
Wallpaper
The most dramatic element of this space is our Snowy Rose removable wallpaper by Rocky Mountain Decals. I immediately fell in love with its crisp white, pink and grey tones which are EVEN more stunning in person.
This was my second time decorating with Rocky Mountain Decals. Their peony wall decals are a focal point in Elle’s nursery, and I was once again blown away by their product’s quality and ease of use.
The design was custom-made to fit the room, so it only took a few hours for me and Aaron to smooth the adhesive paper directly onto our walls. I love how the pattern looks completely seamless, both up-close and from a distance.
Custom artwork
I complimented the whites and pinks of the wallpaper with three pieces of art.
The first is this white-framed canvas I had custom designed by Canvas n’ Decor. At 60” by 15”, this panoramic piece ties into the space perfectly. It features the same peonies as our wallpaper, with dove grey cursive font spelling ‘let them be little’.
This was my third time using Canvas n’ Decor to customize art for our home. I love how simple their design process is, as well as the sturdiness and high-quality of the final product.
In case you’re interested in making a piece for your home, we’ve teamed up to offer my readers 30% off their order and free shipping over $99 until October 21 using code HOLLY30.
I’m quite certain this second piece of art gives it away. But, in case you didn’t know, we’re kindddddd of a crazy cat family. Elle’s playroom was the perfect space to hang this custom watercolor of her three favourite furry friends by Little Oaks Studios.
We also hung this piece that my mother-in-law had drawn of Elle by local artist Andrea Spurrell!
Lace and pompom tent
This dreamy tent is the perfect spot for me and Elle to read a book or snuggle up with her favourite furry friends.
And don’t even get me started on how cute her octopus is!
Pink play kitchen
Without a doubt, one of Elle’s favourite toys is her pink play kitchen. She spends hours preparing gourmet meals (it’s usually ‘toast’) and organizing all her treasures in the cabinets.
Desk and chair
This miniature desk and chair are toddler-sized, giving Elle a great workspace to explore her artistic side, take a seat, play with toys and enjoy a snack.
Other favourites
Thought I’d link a few other items in our glamorous pink playroom that might have caught your eye – including our growth chart, fur rugs, grey and white foam tiles, pompom storage bins and lamb rocker.
Glamorous pink playroom functionality
In addition to being a beautiful space to play, our new playroom is also helping cut down toy clutter throughout the rest of our home by acting as a hub for toy rotation.
Unfamiliar with toy rotation?
Maybe it’s something you should get familiar with! I started rotating toys a year ago in an effort to manage clutter in our main living spaces and to keep Elle’s toys exciting and stimulating.
The process is simple: I spent an afternoon sifting through Elle’s toys and set aside her ‘favourites’ that she loves having around each day. I organized the rest into four large bins, ensuring each bin had a good selection of different types of toys. For example, I stocked each bin with a different puzzle and evenly spread out toys that light up or sing.
Three of the bins stay downstairs in Elle’s playroom. The fourth comes upstairs to our open-plan kitchen and living room where we spend the majority of our time. Then, every week (sometimes more often, sometimes less depending on how many days we spend at home) I swap out the bin, so Elle has a new selection of toys to play with. She always gets quite excited on bin swap days, ooh-ing and ahh-ing over items she hasn’t played with in a while.
In addition to rotating her toys, I also take turns moving her tent, play kitchen and desk between the playroom and upstairs.
Thank you for stopping by to take a tour of Elle’s glamorous pink playroom. I’d love to hear any comments or answer any questions you may have in the comments below.

So beautiful Holly! You have an incredible eye for design. Your home is amazing and little Elle is a very lucky girl. Any little girl would love a playroom like that.
Karen, thank you so much! I had a great time putting this space together 🙂
love everything you did in Elle’s room!!! I’m thinking of getting the lovely wallpaper for my daughter Ariel’s room. She’ll be turning 1 next week. I’m a stay at home mom with my 3 kids and thinking of becoming a photographer in my free time as a hobby. Can you please tell me how you capture your photos in such beautiful light? Is it with an app or a camera? Thank you. You are such an inspiration. Love the girls room.
Thanks so much for the love! I use a Canon camera and edit my images in lightroom 🙂 This room is a bit trickier to photograph as there’s no windows or natural light!
Wow! What an amazing article, i didn’t know about the toy rotation! What a great way to keep changing it up!
