Happy December! I’m fa-la-la-falling head over heels into the holiday spirit this year because – let’s face it – 2020 has been a tough one, so there’s no better time than now to focus on the things that bring us joy. For me, that includes decorating our house for Christmas and sipping and savouring my favourite festive flavours… which now includes this Ginger Bells Fizz cocktail.
My friends over at Eau Claire Distillery were kind enough to gift my blogger bff Alex and me a bottle of their beautiful Christmas Gin. It’s SO festive – have you ever seen such a beautiful liquor bottle? It legit looks like a snow globe.
And wait – there’s myrrh! Like, there’s actual myrrh.
As a nod to the three wise men, Eau Claire Distillery added frankincense, myrrh and 24 karat gold to their traditional London-style dry gin. The result is a flavourful gin (with a bit of sparkle) that Alex and I knew would pair beautifully with the sweetness of blood orange and the spiciness of fresh-pressed ginger.
Here’s the recipe.
Ginger Bells Fizz
Yields 1 drink
You’ll Need:
- 1.25 oz gin ( we used Eau Claire Distillery Christmas Gin)
- 0.75 oz elderflower liqueur (we used St Germain)
- 2.5 oz ginger beer

- 0.5 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
- 0.25 oz fresh-pressed ginger juice
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Ice
- Mint sprig, to garnish
- Dehydrated blood orange, to garnish
Directions:
In a cocktail glass, combine gin, elderflower liqueur, ginger beer, lime juice, ginger juice and orange bitters. Stir lightly, add ice and top with Italian soda. Garnish with mint sprig and dehydrated blood orange slice.
