If you’ve ever had the opportunity to marvel at the dazzling skill and control of Edmonton Firefly Theatre & Circus’ artists, you’ll be excited to hear that they’re BACK to performing live and in-person!
About Firefly Theatre & Circus
Firefly Theatre & Circus is known for thought-provoking thrills and stunning displays of athleticism and grace. Founded in 2001, Alberta’s award-winning aerial circus performance company has captivated audiences across Canada and beyond with their unique fusion of circus arts and theatre.
I was first introduced to Firefly Theatre & Circus – wow, this ages me – over a decade ago, while working in Communications at Alberta Culture. I remember taking in my first performance – an afternoon tea where performers on aerial silks performed up above.
Last year, I was SO excited to try aerial silks for myself during a private class with Stephanie Gruson.

Over the years, Firefly Theatre & Circus has staged productions in numerous venues, including unexpected spaces – from wading pools to intersections, the sides of buildings and even inside structures made of shrink wrap and scaffolding. Talk about a vibrant addition to our province’s arts and culture scene.
