Feel like getting all dressed up with somewhere to go? Then I absolutely recommend a day in the sunshine enjoying brunch at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden.
Formerly called the Devonian Botanic Garden, it’s a stunning 240-acre property in Parkland Country, just 15 minutes outside of Edmonton. I first visited last August with the kids and was enchanted by all the natural beauty. So was Baby Emmett!
Waterfalls. Still pools. A Koi pond. Lush greenery and flowers as far as the eye can see: the University of Alberta Botanic Garden is an oasis!
Brunch at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden
Last week I was more than happy to return to enjoy the sights – as well as some food – at the Garden as they’re currently offering delicious brunch boxes every Thursday through Sunday this May.
Adult boxes cost $60 and include a tasty selection of local brunch fare and a non-alcoholic beverage, as well as your admission to the Garden (which on its own is $18.75). Here’s a look at what was on my menu:
Child boxes are $35 and contain a smaller portion of the adult brunch. I found it was more than large enough for Elle and Emmett – ages four and two – to share.
How Does It Work?
Simply order your brunch and admission package in advance and when you arrive at the Garden, a box full of delicious brunch food will be ready for you. Pick a beautiful spot to relax – I personally loved our location in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden – sprawl out, slow down and enjoy!
And if you want to make your experience even more special, add-ons are available including mimosa kits, salmon with cream cheese and baguettes, picnic blankets, flower bouquets and handmade cards.
A big thank you to the University of Alberta Botanic Garden team for hosting us for this beautiful afternoon.
